Adrian Peterson Is Better Than Chris Johnson

Adrian Peterson With More Rushing Yards Than Chris This Season

Chris Johnson Tennesse Titans

Who’s the best running back in the NFL? Fans and sport writers commonly debate the merits and accomplishments of Adrian Peterson and Chris Johnson, but for one week, we have a clear answer. Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has won the first battle of the 2010 season in a war that should go on all season. Peterson was the NFC’s offensive player of the week for his performance against the Lions on Sunday.

The Minnesota Vikings beat the Detroit Lions by a score of 24-10. The victory was led by Adrian Peterson and his 160 yards rushing on 23 carries. He also ran for two touchdowns, including a career-high 80-yard touchdown scamper where he outran every player on the field.

And despite what my headline might say, I’m still on the fence about who is a better running back. They both have the rare balance of size and speed, and what they are able to do on the football field is mind boggling. Why did I write this particular headline then? Well, you read my entire post, didn’t you?

Missing Stars Have Effect

The Minnesota Vikings want another season from their offense just like the last one.
The reunion has been difficult to organize.
One week into training camp, the Vikings - heard this one before? - still don't have a commitment to play from ageless quarterback Brett Favre. All-Pro running back Adrian Peterson has been bothered by soreness and tightness in his left leg. Their top two wide receivers, Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin, aren't on the field. Even their starting center, John Sullivan, has been held out because he hurt his right calf muscle.
The opener at New Orleans remains more than a month away, so these absences are not yet cause for alarm. So how important is this time together for a veteran team? Well, the Vikings will find out if all these absences by important players in early August affect their rhythm when it counts in September and thereafter.
"I worry for those guys because you don't get another time at missed snaps," coach Brad Childress said.
Favre's arrival a year ago triggered a flourish by the offense unseen in Minnesota since Randy Moss's final year in 2004, and the swagger the Vikings developed rivaled that of the 1998 team that went 15-1 and set the later-broken NFL record for most points in one season. With the exception of backup running back Chester Taylor, the entire unit that finished second in the league in scoring behind the Super Bowl champion Saints is on track to return.
Favre, of course, didn't join the Vikings last year until three weeks of practice were completed. Though wide receiver Bernard Berrian's nagging right hamstring injury hampered his familiarity with Favre, the rest of the team had no problem.
This season, whether Favre comes back or not, the Vikings will again have to prove their ability to develop cohesion for the regular season - and in a shorter window, too.
Peterson returned to practice on Friday morning in pads, but his participation was limited to individual drills. Rice remains on the physically unable to perform list while rehabilitating his injured hip, and Harvin has missed six straight days following the death of his grandmother.
Plus, Peterson didn't work out with the team at headquarters during the winter and spring, skipping the mandatory minicamp for a personal event. Rice and Harvin were mostly away from Winter Park, too. Favre has been practicing with high school kids in Mississippi, while his left ankle recovers from surgery, but he hasn't thrown a pass to the Vikings since January.
"The guys that are out there right now, I think we're developing a good rhythm these last couple days," said running back Albert Young, who has filled in on the first team with Peterson resting. "You can only work with the guys that are out there."
Favre's success last year was an argument against the importance of two-a-day practices, but teams don't schedule them for no reason.
"Camp is huge. Every team in the league is trying to find an identity right now," Young said.
Left guard Steve Hutchinson brushed off any frustration that the absent stars might be causing the offense in the preparation process for the season.
"You're always going to have tweaks and bumps and bruises and guys in and out of camp, so you just learn to deal with that," Hutchinson said. "The offense has just got to keep going. You can't stop or slow down because Adrian's not running the ball or Sidney's been out or Percy. You run the same routes. You run the same plays, and guys have to step up."
Rice said he's not concerned.
"I feel like we've gotten a lot of work in minicamp," he said. "Hopefully it's not going to take too much longer to get healthy and get back out there, get a couple of snaps with those guys."
Rice added: "I think everything is still going well. We've got leaders on this team that know how to handle themselves and we're holding each other accountable to our own job. So we're not going to let any kind of distractions hold us back."
Peterson was not made available for questions following his first practice in three days. Childress declined to put a timetable on the process of putting him back in full-team drills.
"As a coach you want every guy to take every turn. That's the way we're wired. Reps are the best thing. No substitute for 'em," he said, adding: "As much as I want him to ... right now that's not the prudent thing to do."

Report From Vikings Training Camp

August 10, 2010

Where are all of the Vikings Skill Players? Harvin is in Eden Prairie, Favre is still in Hattiesburg living it up with the high school kids, AP is not at camp [Albert Young although is looking good] , and overall the Vikings team has not resembled fully.  This gives Vikings fans even more reason for anxiety and heart attacks because our best three players have started a trickle down effect of skipping out on camp, commencing with Favre at the top. I mean, seriously, The Vikings cannot be projected for the Superbowl if we can't even see their pre-season play. This is the time to get down the new plays, work out the kinks in your game [AP fumbling] , and prepare for the Saints come regular season. Where are these star-studded superstars? Have they lost focus on the big picture, winning the Superbowl in Dallas?  Speculation has to lead you to believe that the Vikings camp is not so tightly organized and that problems will start budding if we don't see the return of our full roster, Favre included. Realistically, with Favre we are a Superbowl favorite, without Favre; we are a wild card favorite, BIG difference. So when will Favre end this onslaught of indecisive waffling? Come, the end of training camp August 14 or perhaps on the 1st regular season game Vs The New Orleans Saints? Well, enough prediction, This is what we do know about the Vikings Training Camp progression:

The Good:
  • Chris Cook.  Cook went into camp as a long-shot to win anything higher than a fifth cornerback spot, but now, after a few stellar days, he looks like a legitimate threat to claim at least the nickelback role.  Observers are in love with his size, athleticism and ability to go up and get the ball.  Judd Zulgad said he is the best-looking rookie in Vikings camp.  It would be fantastic to have a young, talented corner playing outside, allowing Antoine Winfield to move inside or, perhaps, to safety.

  •   Percy Harvin got hurt over the weekend, and has now left the team because of a death in the family.  Sidney Rice is on the PUP list with a bad hip.  These unfortunate situations opened the door for other receivers to get reps, and former Gopher Logan Payne has been the one to take advantage of it.  Judd Zulgad tweeted that Payne is “catching everything.”  He’s still a very long-shot to win a spot on the roster, but stranger things have happened.
  • Chris DeGeare.  Once again, injury has paved the way for a younger guy to get reps with the first team.  In this case, the younger guy is rookie Chris DeGeare, who stepped in at left guard after Steve Hutchinson hurt his shoulder.  DeGeare reportedly looked good in his time at Hutch’s position.  Considering Hutch’s age and the injuries he’s suffered the last couple years, it would be reassuring to have a capable guy to step in should something bad happen.  And just in general, with Artis Hicks now gone, the Vikes need all the offensive line depth they can get.  It may be too early to declare DeGeare a legit threat to Anthony Herrera at right guard, but Brad Childress did say that DeGeare will get snaps at that position.  Clearly, Chilly wants someone to push Herrera.

  • Toby Gerhart.  Toby had an eventful first couple of days.  He signed late and showed up a day late to camp, which irritated the veterans and his coach.  Once he did get on the practice field, a couple people noted that he tends not to play through to the whistle.  Perhaps wanting to test Toby’s mettle, Pat Williams flattened him during a drill.  Toby took it like a man and moved on.  We’ll see.
The BAD:

  • Everson Griffen.  A Twitter follower of Judd Zulgad’s asked him which version of Everson Griffen showed up at camp (Griffen being a guy who is sometimes known for a lack of motivation).  Zulgad’s reply, “The one playing third team right end.”  This doesn’t mean anything yet.  But, if Griffen is still playing third team right end by the end of camp…well, then we’ll know we don’t have a new starting defensive end on our hands.

  • Joe Webb. Those wishing to anoint Joe Webb the future of the Vikings may have been at least somewhat alarmed by the 0-8 performance he put on during drills the other day.  Pretty much every assessment of Webb is the same:  he has a strong arm but his accuracy is brutal, and he is a long, long way from ever being an NFL quarterback.  The lesson?  OTAs and mini camp mean nothing.  Of course, camp doesn’t mean everything either.  Webb could still rebound.  But, for now, he looks like a wide receiver playing quarterback.

Brett Favre Says He Will Play If Healthy

Brett Favre And Adrian Peterson Minnesota Vikings Leaders

Brett Favre's flip-flopping is at full throttle, the surest sign yet that training camp is under way in Minnesota.
Vikings offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell and Favre's agent, Bus Cook, said Wednesday that the veteran quarterback plans to return to the team if he is healthy. The 40-year-old Favre is still rehabbing his surgically repaired left ankle that he injured in the NFC title game loss at New Orleans.
"I know it's a decision that he wrestles with," Bevell said after a morning practice as Favre was throwing the ball around with high school students in Mississippi. "He's a great player. He's a great competitor. He mulls things over. He's an emotional guy. So he thinks things through long and hard and takes his time with his decision. So I'm not surprised that things started to come out. We just have to wait and see."
A day earlier, Favre texted some teammates and Vikings officials to say that his ankle was not healing like he had hoped and that he planned to retire. Favre denied sending any such messages and there was no explanation for the discrepancy.

This story continues below  Advertisement

Bevell, who became close friends with Favre during three years as his quarterbacks coach in Green Bay, said he has spoken to Favre recently, but not in the last 24 hours. He said it's been his understanding that if Favre's ankle heals, he will return to play for the Vikings this season.
"That's what I've been getting all along," Bevell said.
Cook told The Associated Press that Favre will visit his surgeon, Dr. James Andrews, next week for an evaluation.
"He's working out really hard and everything seems to indicate that if he is healthy and can contribute and play at the level that he has become accustomed to, he will play," Cook said.
The two-year, $25 million contract Favre signed last year calls for him to make $13 million this season. Cook said there have been no negotiations on any adjustments to the deal.
"If they want to reward him, nobody's going to walk away from that," Cook said. "But it's not a factor in his decision."
Outside Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg, Miss., Favre told reporters his decision is "not about the money." He also said he has been in touch with the team and "they know what's going on with me."
On Tuesday, a person with knowledge of the situation told The Associated Press that Favre had contacted teammates and team officials to tell them his ankle was not healing well enough and that he wasn't going to return for a second season in Minnesota. Tight end Visanthe Shiancoe confirmed the report, saying Favre "told a couple guys on our team he's going to retire."
Shiancoe said Wednesday he still had not heard from Favre directly and declined further comment.
The drama is nothing new for the Vikings, who have been answering questions about Favre's intentions for three years. Favre told the Vikings just before training camp last year that he was staying retired, only to change his mind and join the team before its second preseason game.
An entire advertising campaign has been built around his indecision and his teammates have become accustomed to hourly changes in his status.
"It's been about three years now I've been getting asked the Brett Favre questions," said a grinning Tarvaris Jackson, who would take over as the starter if Favre does not return. "It's kind of part of my life now. I actually might miss it."
Favre has considered retiring every summer since 2002. The famous waffling helped prompt the Packers to trade him to the Jets in 2008. After a so-so season in New York, he announced his retirement in early 2009 for the second time, then wound up signing with the Vikings.
He had one of his best seasons last year, with career bests in completion percentage (68.4), quarterback rating (107.2) and fewest interceptions (7), while throwing for 33 TDs and 4,202 yards to lead the Vikings (12-4) to an NFC North title. Most people around the NFL figured he'll come back for another run at what would be a third Super Bowl appearance.
"He is an emotional guy. He does tell you how he's feeling. He is very honest," Bevell said. "That's what I love about him and that's what a lot of people love about him. Sometimes it serves him well, sometimes it doesn't."
Like the rest of the league, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said he was taking a "wait and hear" approach to the latest twist in the Favre saga.
"Brett Favre is great for our game. And I think the passion he has for the game is extraordinary," he said. "I think we all love to see him play, but we want him to do what's best for him at the end of the day."
Same goes for Drew Brees, whose Saints play the Vikings in the NFL season opener on Sept. 9.
"Haven't we all seen it before?" Brees said. "I'm not going to believe it until he doesn't walk out of the tunnel on Sept. 9."

Favre Still Absent From Camp But Affects Team Nonetheless

Day 2 of Year 3 of the Brett Favre retirement watch was mostly a quiet one down in Mississippi. Just Favre sitting in a recliner on his farm, sending a few text messages and watching the big screen as ESPN played a continuous loop of his five greatest passes.
Things weren't so relaxed up in Minnesota. There, teammates ran sprints and anxiously counted down the minutes to the first bathroom break so they could gather and analyze the latest batch of missives waiting on their phones.

Quarterback wannabe Tarvaris Jackson swatted a few mosquitoes as he looked at his.
"Hey Tav, hope things r well," it read. "Just funnin' u ystdy about that quittin' thing. But, hey, enugh about me. Enjoy the preseason! U guys r the best!"
Vikings coach Brad Childress waited until lunch to read his.
"What's up, Chil? Throwin' a few passes to the boys down here tdy and u know what? They liked me! They really liked me! But, hey, enugh about me. BTW, did you watch ESPN? 17 different analysts talking 'bout me! 17! All Brett all the time baby!"

Owner Zygi Wilf had his assistant read his to him.
"My man, Ziggy! U hear about my ankle? Not so good, but u know me. I'm tough. Never know, a few weeks more rest and a few more zeros on my contract and it could get better. But, hey, enugh about me. Oh, almost 4got, any chance ur private jet is avble, say, the 1st week of Sept?"

So many texts, so little time. Pushing all those buttons had to make it hard for Favre to concentrate on the real business of the day - watching the talking heads on TV fall all over each other praising his magnificence.
"Just another great moment in Brett's career," one screamed as the video rolled.
"It's so much fun to talk about," another said, smiling as if he really believed it.

Not to worry. A quick check of the calendar shows 36 days before the Vikings head down to New Orleans for a Thursday night rematch of the NFC championship game that opens the NFL season.
Plenty of time left for even more fun. Plenty of time to babble on incessantly about Favre's future.
And plenty of time for Favre to sit in the recliner and send texts.

Don't worry if you've seen this act before, or that it all seems like a bad summer rerun. The script has been tweaked, and some of the names changed to protect the innocent.
Only this time it's not a drama. It's become a comedy.
No, make that a farce. One in which we already know the ending.

The latest edition of "As The Vikings Turn" will end with Favre under center Sept. 9 in the Superdome, just as most of his teammates expected before they began to get texts from Favre indicating otherwise. By then his legend will have grown into almost mythical proportions as the talking heads constantly proclaim his greatness and every video clip from the past shows a completed pass.

Sure, Favre could have made the rest of the summer easier by simply saying he would show up when the preseason ends and everyone would have gone about their business. But that would not have satisfied his seemingly insatiable need to be needed, and it would not have brought the camera crews down to Hattiesburg for breathless daily updates about his status.

It also would not have gotten him a raise from the $13 million he was supposed to make this season. Favre may act like a country bumpkin, but by the time the drama queen of the South gets done with this acting job, he's likely to be several million dollars richer.

It helps that the Vikings have no choice but to play along with his game. They've invested their short-term future in the 40-year-old, and whether he plays or not is probably the difference between them winning the NFC North or being an 8-8 team. It also may play a role in whether they can jumpstart their bid for a new stadium in Minneapolis.

So there was Favre on the practice field Wednesday at Oak Grove High School, throwing balls to some kids and throwing curves to everyone else. A day after sending text messages to some teammates telling them his ankle wasn't healing properly and that he wouldn't be back, he denied any such thing as he left in his pickup truck.

His agent, meanwhile, put yet another spin on things by saying Favre would play if the ankle cooperates.
Let's hope he does. Putting up with his machinations over the next few weeks may be difficult, but the thought of him sobbing uncontrollably through another retirement news conference borders on stomach turning.
Then again, maybe he won't hold one when he's finally done. Maybe he'll just send out another text message and quietly fade away.
"I'm quitting," it could say. "But, hey, enugh about me."

Why Is Brett Favre's Reason For Holding Out The Past Three Off-seasons?

Brett's Our Quarterback!!

Brett Favre, We all know him for five things
1. He Won The 1995 Superbowl vs The New England Patriots
2. He Has Relentlessness Pure Joy And Passion For The Game Of Football
3. He Has played 19 NFL Seasons and Has broken just about every passing and quarterback records there are[about 20 broken records]
4. He's From Mississippi and is One Of The most consistent Top quarterbacks in the game, and football wouldn't be the same without him playing.
5. He's a Flip-Flopper And Is Very Indecisive In Regard To His Retirement Status

So, The Question still remains why Is Brett Been So Indecisive And Enigmatic About Returning The Past Three Years?

The Answer , Brett Favre Fans, is that he can't part with the game even despite his  increasingly stiff ankle and worn body. He's not holding out for the money, trust me he's loaded with all his Wrangler and Sears sponsors and 19 seasons in the NFL all of which were successful piratically so about 10 million multiplied by 19, were talking in the hundred of millions. Why he chooses to remain in Mississippi is another mystery in itself. Okay for his family, but move your family out to a condo in South Beach. So he has the money but how about holding out for his ankle. Sure, but I'm sure a guy like Brett Favre Who's played football his whole life knows his body like a genius knows his mind. Dr. Andrews has already given him three ankle surgeries and recently reviewed  Brett's Ankle and cleared him to play football ,or not. So, The Real Reason Is As Blatant As Favre's Passion for the game. Brett Doesn't return until after training camp because He's been through 18 training camps and wants to skip the hot, long days in Florida with the rest of the Vikings. Sure Brett can put in a few 100 yard sprints with the High school Boys In Harrisburg but he doesn't want to do drills with the coaches at Vikings Camp. The Clear Point of this is that Favre is done with the work and rigor of pre-season training and just wants to skip the preparation and dive straight into the fun, thrill, and excitement of Football come regular season. Is Brett Favre saying he's above the rough, tough, and compliance of Hard work and improvement, NO. Last Season Favre didn't put in any training camp time, except for two weeks. The Result: a trip to the NFC Championship game that was foolishly lost. Moving on, alright we've narrowed down the reason why Brett Favre flip-flops about coming back so that he'll be able to skip the rigor of football, practices. And in essence, it has created an awesome season for the Vikings and one of the best for Favre statistically. So, Vikings fans, is Brett warranted to skip training camp and flip-flop until the end of training camp. Absolutely. Because we know that at the expense of giving Vikings fans heart attacks, Brett will return melodramatically and have another great season, hopefully a trip to Dallas for the Superbowl. So Brett Favre can be Brett Favre and take off training camp but we need him to be ready come the 1st regular season vs The New Orleans Saints.

Agent Announces: "That Favre Will Play If Healthy"

Brett Favre's Agent, Bus Cook, Announces that "Brett Favre Will Play If Healthy."
This is great news for Vikings fans. Now the only piece that has to fall into place for the Vikings to Go to Dallas this year is for Favre's doctor, Doctor Andrews, to clear him for play this year. Dr. Andrews better clear Brett to play this year because if not he'll fell receive the hate of the Purple Pride community. For real, Brett Favre has undergone three ankle surgeries, I'm sure it's just sore and stiff, not a serious problem. The main priority for our offensive line this year is to Stop Julius Peppers [Bryant Mckinnie] from abusing Favre. Peppers, recently traded to the Chicago Bears, is a beast when it comes to sacking quarterbacks. We face the Bears two times this year and our offensive line, especially Bryant Mckinnie better come prepared to play some smash-mouth Football those days:Here's The 2010-2011 Schedule with My Predicted Wins And Losses. Wins are purple, Bright Red  is losses [only 2], and Blue is vs The Chicago Bears:

Minnesota Vikings Schedule
9/09 Minnesota Vikings @ New Orleans Saints -Biggest game of the year, we should show them how lucky they were during that NFC Championship Game Last Year!
9/19 Miami Dolphins @ Minnesota Vikings- Automatic Win, no threats on Offense!
9/26 Detroit Lions @ Minnesota Vikings- Automatic Win, Enough Said
Vikings Bye Week-Rest Up Boys!!
10/11 Minnesota Vikings @ New York Jets-Tough Game, But In The End Favre Delivers A Game-Winning Pass To Rice In The End-zone
10/17 Dallas Cowboys @ Minnesota Vikings- Playoff Match-Up Of Last Year, Vikings Roll Because Of Superior Defense And Pressuring Romo In The Pocket
10/24 Minnesota Vikings @ Green Bay Packers-We'll Give The Packers One Only Because They Have Home-Field Advantage!
10/31 Minnesota Vikings @ New England Patriots- Get To Brady Early On Defense, Force A Turnover And Build Momentum From There, Too Much Adrian Peterson And Favre!!
11/7 Arizona Cardinals @ Minnesota Vikings- Superior Offensive And Defensive Lines We Win The Battle In The Trenches And Take The Cake!!
11/14 Minnesota Vikings @ Chicago Bears- Brett Favre Explodes For 300 Yards And Jared Allen Gets His, Vikings Win!!
11/21 Green Bay Packers @ Minnesota Vikings- Our Defense Holds In The Second Half And We Beat The Cheese heads At Home!
11/28 Minnesota Vikings@ Washington Redskins-Donovan McNabb With No Other Weapons, Haynesworth Still Trying To Pass The Test...
12/05 Buffalo Bills @ Minnesota Vikings- No Weapons On Offense-Clear Favorites-We Steam Roll Them!!
12/12 New York Giants @ Minnesota Vikings- Too Much Eli Manning For Our Secondary To Handle, Vikings Drop One.
12/20 Chicago Bears @ Minnesota Vikings- Peppers Is Neutralized By Mckinnie And The Vikes Outscore Them For Another Victory!
12.26 Minnesota Vikings @ Philadelphia Eagles- Brett Favre Is Too Good To Be Stopped And Adrian Peterson Has A Good Day!
1/2/2011 Minnesota Vikings @ Detroit Lions- When's The Last Time We Lost To The Lions? 2007?

So, Our Main Focus for this year is to protect Favre and Keep The Turnovers To A Minimum, [that means AP has to hold onto the ball ] and our road to the playoffs and eventually the Superbowl doesn't look to hard.  Now that we know that Brett is coming back if Dr, Andrews Clears Him For This Season all we can do is wait and pray for #4 to Lead us to the holy land. Last year, we had bad turnover problems in the playoffs, that was the only thing that prevented us from taking home the Lombardi Trophy. So , If we just tweak Adrian Peterson's carrying Style and Get Harvin To learn how to run out of the backfield, all the while keeping Brett Healthy The Superbowl is Ours.

Minnesota Vikings Superbowl  XLV Champions!!!

Brett Favre Retiring? Star Tribune Confirms

This is the third time we've announced this, but this time, it may actually be permanent: Brett Favre has reportedly announced  his plans to retire from the NFL.[ BS, rigamorarole, persifilage, lies, impossible, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! My Initial Reactions]!!
Favre's 19 seasons in the league have been filled with more touchdowns, interceptions, drama, retirements and unretirements than any other quarterback in NFL history. Often brilliant, sometimes frustrating, but never boring, Favre seemed to always be in the limelight, whether as Packers icon or would-be savior of the Vikings and Jets.

In Minneapolis, early this morning, The Star Tribune's Headline was "Bret Favre Announces Final Retirement."We all know about the previous two times he's announced this without any indication of coming back, that he was retired officially. We've been through the Brett Favre Roller Coaster full of tears, lies, rumors, and eventually bliss with his sudden returns. One thing that I can tell Vikings Fans truthfully from what I've heard today surronding Brett Favre is that there is as much chance that Brett Favre is actually retired as there is a chance that His Wife isn't hot!!!  Slim chance, right! Everyone is skeptical of the "official retirement announcement" by the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Ryan Longwell, his teammate for nine seasons [counting this when when he comes back] has said that he talked to him yesterday and there was no indication of Favre retiring, and that he never received a text message like when he "retired" with the Jets and Packers.  Has the silverfox finally succumbed to his ankle pain.stiffness and called it quit for goods? Or he he just trying to get 20 million instead of the 13 million guaranteed he has for this year like the other top quaterbacks[Tom Brady And Drew Brees]? Brett has tweeted and texted many times that his ankle is bothering him and that his ankle is the only thing that's stopping him from returning to the Vikings organization. Even at the ESPYS he declared that his ankle wasn't at the point where he wanted it. Does this mean the misery for Brett Favre and the Shoe-in Vikings this year for the Superbowl in Dallas. It is and it isn't. It is, becasue T-jack is unexperienced and not clutch in pressure situations, as displayed in the 2008 playoffs vs the Eagles[Asante Samuel 74  pick-off for a touchdown to give the Eagles the lead at Half].

Brett Favre's Ankle After Three Surgeries

Say it isn't so, oh wait it probably isn't true!

Are You Serious?Brett Favre Retirment Announcement:

Here's A Video of the live report:

Brett Favre Retiring? Playoffs? are you talking about no playoffs?!

WHY THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE!!

  1. He's Still Alive: What else is BRETT FAVRE going to do besides play football for the Vikings and win the Superbowl. Ahh, let's see, mow his lawn with his John Deere Riding Lawn-Mower, play with his kids, Go Fishing, Watch the Vikings win the Superbowl with T-Jack, watch TV, Play golf, Go hunting for bucks, take a walk with his wife, sleep, eat steaks and grill-out, and have sex. Minus the sex part, everything on this list fails in comparison with leading the Vikes to the Superbowl!! This was the storyline for this year, "Brett Favre and The Vikings Return To Win The Superbowl After Devastating Loss to Saints." Not Brett gets pooped and quits!! You've had three ankle surgeries, I'm sure it's fine. at least give Vikings Fans some closure, For real!
  2. He Still has pure joy for the game: I don't have to go into details on that. Everyone knows that Brett is the most entertaining player to watch in the NFL. Losing him from football is like losing Roger  Federer from Tennis, Tiger Woods from Golf, John Madden from Announcing, Kobe Bryant from Basketball, Phi Jackson from Coaching, Lance Armstrong from Cycling, Michael Phelps from Swimming, and A-Rod from Baseball. What to they all have in common? They all are the respectful kings of their sport and play it with pure joy and love. There isn't a figure in sports that is more amicable than Favre. Even Green Bay Fans Still Love him unconditionally!

       3. He's Getting 13 million Guaranteed this year and a Superbowl: Who's to doubt that the Vikings aren't the favorites for the Superbowl this year if we reacquired Favre, not certainly the Saints [lucky bastards]!
We have no holes in our roster, [except back-up quarterback], and our defense and offensive lines combined are the highest paid, most talented lines in the NFL.Brett can , and still can win a Superbowl if he banishes his impulsive action.

       4. His wife renewed her Lifetime Fitness Subscription In Minneapolis: Certainly this is more concrete evidence that Brett is staying in Minnesota and playing with the Vikings than the legitimacy of Brett Favre Saying he's retired. I mean, why else would Deanna renew her subscription? People from the Deep South, as Brett and Deanna are, don't just switch lifestyles to the Midwest and the freezing, snowy conditions for nothing.

        5. His teammates will talk him out of it, or he'll realize what he still has in Minnesota: Ryan Longwell, AP, Childress, and all of his friends in the NFL will be sending him texts telling him how good he still is and how they hate to see him go and he'll flop his intent and return to the Vikings.

       6. Brett Favre Is Too Good To Retire: C'mon he just came off his statistically Best Season! The man had 32 touchdowns and a 67.5 % complete Percentage. He never had a better season than in 2009, he can't be completely down with his decision even if that's his feeling right now.

     7. Bret Favre Is Impulsive: Brett Favre is a guy who lives in the moment. Do you think he actually compared all of the intangibles and opportunities he has or did he just wake up with a stiff ankle and decide in a rush of despair, I can't play this year! He never gave a press conference like the other two times, doesn't that sound odd.

    8. He never gave a press conference or his word: The Two previous retirement announcements, he declared it live on television. Adding to this fact, he never told Childress or any of his teammates or friends that He's retiring. Just some unofficial text message to the Media.

   9. No Video or tangible evidence. I don't see anybody confirming this announcement.

    10. Brett is Unpredictable: We will never know until T-jack steps onto the field under center vs the Saints in the 1st regular season game of the year.
